ICU Tails of elegance. Catalaphyllia jardinei

Catalaphyllia jardinei - The elegance blues?    Here is my story:   I bought this wonderful blooming elegance from the LFS and it remained blooming for about 2-3 weeks and then went into the not-so-beautiful stage of its existence.

Its now been 6 months and the elegance is fine, but its seems to be not as happy?

I have tried many additives including Marc Weiss Combo Vital, Kent CoralVite, Kent Iodine, Reef Evolution Trace elements, Kent Iron, you name it...but to no avail.  All the other coral loved the additives, but not the elegance.  It seems to live by a different chemistry.

Can it by my lighting with VHO I doubt it?   The LFS had metal hallides in the tank it was place in.  Could it be the size requires higher lighting?  I just dont know.

One LFS owner suggested dirtier water!!

My ph is 8.1-8.3 , temp 77-79, KH 9-11, Calcuim 400-450+ (on most days).  0 on amonia, nitrite , nitrate, phosphate, etc.

Any input would be helpful or someone with a similar elegance war story.  Thx in advance.
